Suspense Draft

I came up with this story from a tv show I watch but it is a run-off. I have a ways to go because I’m only in the background of my story. Once that is done I am going to start back up with the cliffhanger.

My name is Emma Sawyer, to the people in New York I am the guy who had rich parents and a new girl every week. But what they don’t know is I am they man in the mask that goes out every night to protect my city from the people who want to hurt it. Now there is a man in a clown mask that is giving people a shot, making them follow his every move. Right now I am hanging off a building with one of his men about to step on my hands.

This started a year ago after I got back from what the news called “my sabbatical”. They said this because a week before I left my parents were one their way home from one of their fancy parties, when their car got flipped, and they were murdered. They never caught the person who did it. After that it was just me and my little sister Taylor, and because I am 24 and she is 17 she was put into my custody. I couldn’t take the pain and needed time and space so she went to live with my family friends, until I got back. When I left I didn’t know where I was going to go, but I heard of this island where they helped people like me so I was set to find it..
“¿Hola mi nombre es Tucker Sawyer, puedes ayudarme?” I asked
“Mi nombre es eduardo Martinez, como puedo ayudar” He said
“busco una isla que ayude a las personas cuando su triste. ¿have you heard of it?”
“Come with me” Eduardo said as he dragged me to what I think was his house. “How did you here about Tristan da Cunha?”
“I thought it was a legend.”
“No it is real, but no one is supposed to know about it. Why are you so interested in it?”
“I lost my parents about a week ago and I just need help understanding why it happened.”
“I’m sorry about your parents, but you should never go to that place.”
“Why not, I thought it was supposed to help. What happens there?”
“Nothing you should concern your self with. Goodbye” he said as he left.

Once he left I went to my hotel and looked up the name he called the island. There was hardly anything on it, but it was off the coast of South Africa. So I booked a ticket to Cepe town South Africa, and bought a ticket on a boat that when by it. It took 6 days to get to the area, at which point I had to take a row boat to the island that was at least a couple of miles away. It took me 2 days to reach the island. I wandered around for a bit, until I saw what seemed like a castle. I start to walk toward the building when men attack me and dragged me to the castle. When they take me inside there were people in masks, that were fighting. They stopped all of the sudden when a man put his hand in the air. They were taking in a foreign language that I couldn’t understand.
“Why are you here, how have you heard of this place.” The leader said
“It has gone around my city. I came to this because I needed to leave my city for a while.”

“We can help you here, so leave now before we kill you and you never return.”
“Please, please help me I can’t take the hurting anymore.” I begged him as they were dragging me out. Until the leader put his hand up, halting them. He said something in their language and they dragged me to what look like their prison. The prison looked like it was a carved out of the ground. The walls where made of stone, it was a dark stone, almost black. There were a were one or two candle holders against the walls that illuminated the room during the night. There was a very small window that brought in some light during the day. Most of the time my foot was chained to the center of the room. I was keep there for days with only a tiny bit of food and water daily. Until finally they take me out and they start fighting me. I didn’t have any weapons and I didn’t know how to fight so I was pinned to the ground and beaten. They let me up and took me back to the prison, every day they would take me out and start training me until I started to beat them. They gave me a bow stick, and tought me to fight with it. I was there was for almost a year.
